The Window to Your Soul?

It's Friday night, (or Saturday maybe, by the time you read this), and I think it's a day for light posts. There will be more on the liberty versus materialism issue tomorrow.

This is for those of you who say I never give you anything personal.

I'm supposed to be anonymous!
That's how anonymity works!

But I really don't think anyone is going to come running up to me in the street, shouting 'You're Crushed By Ingsoc!', simply because I post this picture.
In fact, I sincerely doubt that anyone reading this blog, is ever likely to walk past me in the street.

So my anonymity is quite safe, but they say the eyes are the window to the soul, and I guess that's what you really want.
You want to know what type of person I am.

This is the fullest picture of me that will ever appear here.
The rest is entirely up to your own imagination!

I will tell you, I wasn't christened Crushed. I made it up.
Quite like the name now though. It kind of suits me.

OHhhhh... you've got me almost shouting here, CBI..:-) I LIKE IT!!!! You look really good (yes, I don't think those eyes and nose could be part of a misshapen face...:-)) Wowww... Cool, really cool... Your eyes look dark blue in this pic.. nice pic!! (haha, I'm tripping over my words with enthusiasm:-))

Very nice eyes! You look a bit mysterious...sexy too!

Anonymous said...

yes very nice eyes indeed... warm and inviting :-)

So cute Mr Eyes... I amrock hard right now..

Yes, it's a nice name and you have nice eyes. Well, next time I come over I will walk past you and give you a Sicilian stare - just for the hell of it - OK?

Anonymous said...

I have seen you around.

Eve- Nice to know my eyes meet your approval. They are blue-grey depending on how dilated they are.

Jenny- I've been described as mysterious, yes.

Sally- Thanks, I am actually quite an outgoing person in the flesh.

Mutley- Erm- I do hope not!

Welshcakes- The Sicilian stare thing sounds scary.
I shall take a different route to my local.

Ed- Do you know what, statitically, it's not impossible. Have you ever worked out how many people who's fact you've seen in your life?
It probably is millions, literally.

Very. Fucking. Sexy.

You look familiar. So much for anonymity.

Awwwwww boo! You're no fun :P You're such a tease ;)

Crushed,
You have very soulful eyes. And oh so cosmic.
I could recognize you on the street. I could sense your Soul.

Wow, CBI....blue-grey... we always read about that in the books... so it's true...! LOL ;-)
Now I'm quite sure that you're not a pale, plump, pimply guy in tweeds (I dunno, somehow that's another impression that sticks with me, 'cos of that thing where they say over the net, you can never guess who you're talking to). You know, you look so good that I think you could branch out a little; like do some HNTs ;-) I've a hunch that they'd be my favourite male ones; I suddenly notice that I haven't seen many good ones from guys...:-)

Mutley - That's my favourite comment among the 10 that CBI received on his eyes. LOL... wish I'd said it! ;-)

Stare you back big-boy!

OMG! I think I know who you are!!

Joking!

Well it's two more eyes than you'll see from me. Actually it seems that we don't look too much dissimilar.

JJ- Short, sweet, direct. :)
I'll let you into a secret- I do flash them a lot in conversation.

Shelly- You are probably able to recognise the character type. The image you have of the rest of me may well be wrong, but I bet your impression of WHO I am, is reasonably close. Eyes tell a lot about who we are.

Princess- Hey, I was never going to go this far!
I think I'm actually quite a fun guy.
Tease? You think so?

Alexys- It's be interesting to see if that was true.
However, when I'm outdoors, I'm usually wearing sunglasses this time of year!
That's a lovely description, though.
Why cosmic?
And what sort of sould do you sense?

Eve- HNTs?
I have to wear a suit to work, but only wear a tie if I have to (Corporate Dog Collars, I call them)

Wolfie- These your eyes?
These could be a new meme...

David- Of course you know who I am! Crushed by Ingsoc!
Amusingly, my flatmate saw the post, and said 'I know those eyes, I've seen them before!'
I pointed out she sees them most days. She didn't twig straight away.

You have fat eyes. * You do love my honesty though right?

Anonymous said...

Ahh, now that you say that, you DO know my next question, don't you .... ;-) What do you do? (that way, the question is open enough for you to give a job description without a definition, if the latter would incriminate you...;-))

Anonymous said...

the eyes are definitely windows on the soul... you can tell so much about someone's mood just from their eyes

Anonymous said...

Of course you know who I am! Crushed by Ingsoc!

There are only two rules about Crushed by Ingsoc:

Number One: You do not talk about Crushed by Ingsoc

and Number Two: You DO NOT talk about Crushed by Ingsoc!

The Cult of Crushed's Eyes

Ubermouth- I was quite tired when that picture was taken. I think I might have told you I'm 11 stone.

Eve- Basically, sell stuff.

Gledwood- You can. I was in quite a relaxed mood when this was taken, but also quite tired.

David- I always like the Project Mayhem bit...
Very clever fil, almost a post-marxist critique on the human wastage of modern life.

Colin- Like a 21st century cargo cult...
I think I've been called a cult before, but I might have misheard...

...In fact, I sincerely doubt that anyone reading this blog, is ever likely to walk past me in the street...

Uh-huh - I'd recognioze you anywhere. By the way, check out the right end of my new nav bar.

Who says, we would be outside or that I can't see through sunglasses? Hey I can see through Souls, sunglasses are nothing. Cosmic because I think you are probably moved by the moon, the stars, the sun, the planets, the ethers. Your depth and breadth are all encompassing.

Just off the top of my head. I see a gentle Soul with profound perception, a sly fox, a good listener, a heart that is protected, somewhat held back, but secretly wants to fly right through the heavens and get on with living freely.

Anonymous said...

you did that on purpose ingsoc... now your stock went through the roof dood.

Anonymous said...

That looks like a professional photo, and I imagined you much older than that....or rather, that you would have older eyes.......or sumthin.

Anonymous said...

Yo - you've scored some cool chix here, Crushed.

Lord SB- Thanks for that, it's a good idea. It's got me thinking of doing something similar.
I already have a Lord Nazh style link to a different BP blog weekly down the bottom, but it might be worth doing a Site of the Day link somewhere as well.
Thanks for the link!

Alexys- Living freely, yes, that is the Holy Grail we all seek, I think.
Thanks for the lovely words, I can't take issue with your description.

Raffi- Well it was deliberate in the sense that I pressed 'Publish' on purpose, but it was a very unplanned post. Spur of the moment really.
Flooding closed some of the Motorways Friday, so my flatmate had to abandon her car. Her mother's home was flooded also- it's by a canal. My mate couldn't get home and stayed unexpectedly, so I did a post which didn't involve me thinking.

Steph- :) The picture was taken on my flatmate's mobile phone!
It's actually a very bad picture, but when I played with the colour and the light and came out OK.
I'm late twenties.

Lord SB- I think I have some of the nicest commentors around.
But I think most of them are just being polite!

Hey Crushed, I didn't want to put this in a more serious post, but I've "tagged" you if you feel like it.

Anonymous said...

hmm, so you mean you didn't get your nick from teh canadian series "Kids in the hall" when they shouted "I'm crushing your head"..

.. oh well, go figure?

Oh yeah, everyone giving you compliments. You seem to have nice.. err... cheekbones? (not a sheep so I'm going against whats obvious - the eyes. I mean why be difficult when you can be impossible?)

Cheers!

Anonymous said...

You have lovely light eyes, lucky you!

Anonymous said...

Helen- I don't mind at all. Don't feel that seriousness is expected round here.

Crashie- I've never been happy with my cheekbones actually.

Ruthie- I hope you don't think I was ripping off your avatar...

Anonymous said...

LOL. I saved your eyes, you know. So I think I'd buy whatever stuff it is you sell, as long as you promised to teach me how to use it ;-)

Anonymous said...

oh yeahIknow you! I see you all the time! Look behind you...there I am! (made ya look)

Anonymous said...

Eve- You saved my eyes? On your PC?
To scare yourself?
Now I'm wishing I had something interesting to sell you- You would certainly get service with a smile ;)

Poody- I just looked behind me- are you in the chest of drawers?

Anonymous said...

*grin* LOL! :-D *still grinning* ;-)
