Miracles

You want miracles?

Life itself is a miracle.
Somehow you are here. You live, you breathe, you feel.

And you can spend your life thinking about that if you want. Life. Your life. That's the miracle.

Wherever it came from, whatever caused it, never forget that life itself is amazing. Existing, touching, feeling, enjoying, suffering, loving.

And it's the only one you'll ever have. You're in it now.

It's not a dress rehearsal.
Not a trial where you plan for some other life to come.

When you're gone, you get to sleep for a long time.

What you don't do in this life, you'll never do.

So don't be frightened to live.

Sometimes risks are worth taking.

I agree it is not a dress rehearsal, life is for living and learning. It prepares us for what happens next. Can we learn enough or not?...

Assuming that something does happen next Cherie....

It's better to regret in having tried than regretting not having tried at all.

I hate the thought that I might not actually do much with my life. I always assume I'm going to do something but then years go by and I haven't really done a thing I said I would........

Now what are you up to Crushed? Sometimes risks are worth taking and some risks are not worth taking. Just remember that too.

Good post.

So don't be frightened to live.

Also, since you've got just one chance; make a difference... :-)

So true, one should make the most of today. Time waits for no (wo)man.

"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present."

CherryPie- The whole thing is one back learning curve.

It's not a test, unless you count dieing you got the best out of it you could as a test.

FWG- I just felt particularly fired up by this vein of thought at the time.

Oestrebunny- I agree, definitely.

Sometimes you just have to take the risk.

'Strike the bell, o curious stranger,
strike the bell and bide the danger,
or wonder till it drives you mad,
what would have happened if you had'

Kate- Well, so far I've dismally failed at overthrowing the government. Or of releasing a Trance Album. Or finish writing a novel.

But I'm not sure whether I have many regrets. One or two at most.

And I don't plan on adding to them.

jmb- I agree. The one I was kind of thinking about as I wrote this post, most certainly is worth it, in my opinion.

I've taken a fair few risks in life that didn't pan out and I like to think i weight these things up with a bit more realistic foresight these days. But by the same token, you have to know when to take the risk of your life.

Eve- I plan to :)

We buy our immortality by the dignity with which we handle our mortality.

Crashie- I like that, I'll have to remember that.

Yes, good philosophy.

Not just a pretty face, are you? :)
