3rd Crushed Sunday Memusetica

Courtesy of Judd Corizon.
If you finish reading the post, before you finished listening to the music, may I recommend the two posts below. It's been quite a productive day, postswise. One is serious, the other- gives you an insight into a side of life I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with, but is real life- or was to many of my generation.

At a certain age women should: stop sitting by the bar drinking vodka and orange, wearing a PVC skirt and thinking we're going to buy them a drink.

At a certain age men should: realise that no matter how drunk you are, it's no excuse for starting a fight.

When I was a kid I thought I would: serve in World War III. As a secret agent.

Now that I am older I wish: that more of my regrets were things I HAD done, than things I HAVEN'T done.

You know you are too old to party when: everyone around you is asking you if it really is true that they used to dance with glo-sticks and white gloves 'in your day'.

You know you are too young to retire when: you still haven't got a pension plan.

When I was in high school I listened to the music of: The Prodigy, KLF, Utah Saints, you get the picture.

Nowadays I find I like the music of: lots of different groups, Depeche Mode obviously leading the way, but I'm fairly eclectic. Except I hate (c)rap and R&B.

On my last birthday I: permitted myself a weekends indulgence in the party choices of my youth...(see this post for a clearer summation)

On my next birthday I want to: go out for a nice meal somewhere where a certain special someone.

The best birthday present I ever got was: The Times History Atlas. Don't laugh. I'd been looking forward to that for ages.

The first time I felt grown up was: when I bought my first pint in a pub. I think I was 15.

The last time I felt like a kid was: about three hours ago. Women make you feel that way sometimes.

When I read Lord of the Rings it changed my life.

Last year was: a year of highs and lows. Some of the best moments of my life, but also some of the lowest ever.

Next year I hope: that the revolution will come sooner than I'd anticipated.

You were busy yesterday!

While one can be too young for some things, I hope I am never too old that I don't enjoy life.

But I won't enjoy the revolution so I hope it is later rather than sooner.

I have to admit that reading LOTR also changed my life as a child - I became a reading crazy person!

Interesting meme.

Regarding your previous post, US law provides that cyberstalking is actionable. Because Crushed by Ingsoc (and all other blogs, so far as I know) reaches the US, you have a legal right to sue in an American court. Problem is, this wouldn't be enforceable in other countries, necessarily, and wouldn't be actionable unless the defendant had ties to the US (as a citizen, or has business in, etc.).

So far as I know, no one is stalking me, and certainly no one has threatened me. But the advice not to respond is probably the most prudent course of action, along with consulting an attorney and taking counteraction that puts one in a good legal position.

Nunyaa- Well, many would say I never did :)

I'm not sure there's anything wrong with feeling like a child.
It's those moments when you feel a pure, untainted emotion, devoid of self interest, I think. Just feeling something for itself.

jmb- Sometimes the muse comes upon me. Some days I can just write, it just comes, I NEED to do it, it becomes compulsive.

You would enjoy the revolution, I can just see you now up on that barricade, crying 'Freedom'.

I see you as a freedom fighter, jmb :)

Mimi- They were good days though! I feel quite proud to have ben part of that generation.
The nineties equivalent of the 1966 Summer of Love.

We are the E generation and not ashamed to be so :)

Cat- I've read it about ten times since, I've posted on it 'The Mythology I believe in'. It's kind of religion to me. Some people ask 'What would Jesus have said?' I say 'What would Gandalf have said. Gandalf to me, is the personification of wisdom.

X-dell- Well, this blog is pretty much protected against a re-occurance, I think. I have a policy as you probably notice, which covers a lot, though I'm thinking of bunging more clauses in it.
I do know a very good lawyer, as it happens :)

CherryPie- I hate it. With one or two exceptions.
And this 'Gansta rap' business, I mean Christ.
What's next, Concentration Camp Classical music?

Mutley- Busy bee, busy bee, buzz where you like but don't sting me.
