But Still It Moves

The weekly poll result will be announced tomorrow.
And a new topic.

I'd just like to leave you with an apocryphal story about Galileo.

Galileo was forced to recant his 'heresy' that the earth orbitted the Sun, before the Papal inquisition.

It is claimed that after he had recanted he muttered under his breath 'But still it moves'.

Indeed. It didn't matter how many times anyone said that the Sun went round a stationary Earth or what twisted logic they used to prove it, the fact is, the Sun does NOT orbit the Earth.

And no Papal inquisition could make it do so.

So I'd like to leave you with that.

'But still it moves'.

Cool. That reminds of Carl Jung, "It's not a question of belief. I know what I know."

Now there is a propaganda score for you...

You need to ask yourself why someone who was previously pretty much in good with the Pope suddenly came unstuck.

I figure it might have had something to do with the fact he published a book that his enemies were able to spin as a personal attack on the Pope. What with the dumb guy he used in the book arguably having some similarities to the Pope.
