Attempts to Intimidate

A serious attempt to intimidate my blog and it's readers was kindly made by The Bournemouth Nationalist last night.

A deliberate attempt was made to shut down this blog by attempting to gain the password to it, via a hyperlink.

Be warned, these guys are fighting dirty and nasty now.
To these guys, these aren't just awards and I really have seen how nasty these misfits can be.

EVERYBODY, watch your blogs.
Watch suspicious commentors.

There are sinister forces in the bloggosphere.

More then ever, this blog says GO VOTE IN THE BLOGPOWER AWARDS AND SHOW THEM WE WILL NOT LET THEM WIN

I'm confused about what's going on... what am I missing?

How Rude!

Having said that, I'm with Ruth. What the hell happened? And how did you know they were trying to get your password?

OK, as you may or may not know there is some nastiness at the fringes of the Blogpower Awards, in the form of the BNP, a political organisation concerning whom there are no good words to be said.

There is a blog in three of the categories acheiving a suspicious amount of support for a relatively obscure blog. If you want to take a look at this blog it is http//bestnewsfirst.blogspot.com
This has been discussed at defending the blog (follow the hyperlink to vote)
I have received three visits to this site from our Far Right Bournemouth Friend, possibly because I myself am in two of the polls concerned myself. I think the anti-BNP slant of recent posts (plus a couple of other things) must have irritated.

As you see, there is a deleted comment in the thread below. Bournemouth National Socialist, sorry Nationalist had left a message saying 'Good Morning Fellow Nazis', which was hyperlinked.

Now here's the scary part. If YOU, Phishez, or you, Ruthie, had clicked it, you would have been taken to the dashboard of YOUR OWN BLOG.
Fortunately, I was not the first person to come upon it and was able to delete it.

This is the kind of shit we are dealing with and it makes you think.

But if these nostalgaic brownshirts think a stunt like that will make me throw in the towel, they can f*** off.

I think Bournemouth Nationalist must get to wear an extra large pointy white hat at BNP meetings.

I can't believe Bournemouth Nationalist would do something like that. If he did he has some explaining to do.

Evil scum! I keep getting some random guy dropping by and telling me to vote for him.

Funnily enough, his name is 'sockpuppet' and it was just after you suggested sockpuppet as a guess. Did you suspect he'd be doing the rounds of your blogroll?

This is really, really strange... I have no interest in voting for anything (except perhaps to please you), but got a visit from the sockpuppet you showed in the video... and then now I'm hearing this from you... looks like these awards are a big deal for some people (I know, you've said so, but I can't really see why! So if one wins, then what?). So, after all, I'm now going to click on the link you kindly provided...;-)

Ok, now I've seen it, and I've no idea who to vote for, since I don't have time to read all the blogs. Voted for the category you're in (you mentioned 3, but I only found one-Little blogger), and for the rest, if there's a need to vote, you could just tell me who to vote for (since I don't know anything about UK politics anyway) ;-) (Sounds irresponsible of me, doesn't it...;-))

As everybody knows, us far right types are renowned not only for our high intelligence, but also our sense of fair play.

You can't stop the Sock!

Now get behind the New World Order!

Anonymous said...

tell me you aren't taking sock puppet seriously...

I think I deserve a little respect here. It is very clear that you pinko liberals are not taking us very seriously.

We have a legitimate agenda and we have every right to use any avenue to pursue it.

CBI, this is deeply unpleasant stuff; that it follows your Voltaireian overtures to YDKM just adds insult to injury. I tried to come here from there, but his link is borked, leading me to the blogger login page and a moment or two of paranoia...

You've been on fire over the past couple of days; that, this, and the sense of another blog conflict spilling over onto these pages make you an extraordinary read just now, and I mean that in a good way.

Anonymous said...

Sockpuppet - respect for calling YDKM a pinko liberal.

Anonymous said...

yeah sorry about that. I added a "/" on the end of the link. its fixed now.

Thanks generally for the comments and support.
I seem to have entered a bizarre alternate reality of late, certainly.

I'll admit I am certainly no fan of the BNP, but as Youdon'tknowme will confirm, have always tried not to make it personal and try and engage in sensible debate.

Thanks for maintaining the Blogpower ideals YDKM, I don't include you in any of my remarks regarding any unpleasantness. I still think- as do many other people that there is a huge marine odour to UK News- but I appreciate your position.

As for people like Sock Puppet, I am not sure what to make of him. I have had a look at your blog, Sock, and it is very worrying. I think other commentors here are confused also.
Care to shed some light?

But at least we know where you stand.

On the issue of categories I am in, which Eve asked about, I have a shot at Most Under Rated. I am a distant third in Best Wordsmith, but in all fairness, the front runner really deserves to win.

As to other blog wars spilling on to here, they can spill right back out, as I have made clear to those who seek to bring them here.

Anonymous said...

Thanks, CBI. Ha, it's a bit of a pity that I can only vote for you once (or I'd do it again and again, just to give you the pleasure of winning ;-) lol.)

Anonymous said...

That's an excellent attitude to blog wars right there. And here I was, thinking blogs were supposed to be all fun and light and floaty and shit.

Anonymous said...

You can vote daily, Eve.
Some people vote more often than that, though I don't personally.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Phishez.
I just find them a pain in the arse.
I'm hoping this BNP one will end after the final vote count on Wednesday, but until then this is one blog that is nailing it's colours to the mast.

Then maybe we can have some nice philosophical posts and the odd Music Video again.

It was a link to a Richard Littlejohn article on the Daily Mail's page titled "Good Morning Comrades"

Jesus the paranoia going around BS is really, well I was going to say amusing but I think disturbing would better a more accurate word to use

Anonymous said...

Paranoia?
It's possible, though when strangle links on your blog lead to bizarre places on your blog and the link in question stands alona as 'Good morning, Fellow Nazis', paranoia would be understandable.

I'll assume no hostile intent was meant and post accordingly.

I can verify that I clicked on the link you left Bournmouthand it did NOT take anyone to any article but was as stated by CRushed.Nothing worse thansoemone who wants to fight dirty fights from dark corners and then lie and deny when caught. Go sit in the corner with the dunce hat on,lil' boy!

Crushed, I have seen the video, and sockpuppet's blog and it has to be a spoof. I mean REALLY! The BNP don't persue their politics in this way, because they would attract no one if they did. It is someone tech savy for sure, with a very odd idea of fun. It is a prank. It has to be!

Go sit in the corner with the dunce hat on,lil' boy!

What - just for a typo Freya?

That's pretty harsh treatment if you ask me and I would like to appeal your decision and ask for leniency as I had no intention of stirring up the Gods

Crushed, help me out here man

Ahh, I see... okay, thanks for the info... here's to your success! :-)
