One for All, and All For One

Today Dumas is one of my favourite authors. That journey started over twenty years ago with this cartoon.
Children's TV in the eighties wasn't all good, but I think it was a LOT better than the poor little mites get given today.

I always liked the Tom and Jerry take on Dumas' work: The Two Mouseketeers, classic, with french phrases and everything (pauvre, pauvre, pussycat). Anyhow, why is Uber/Carly MIA (or is she a POW)? and how can one get in touch with said individual?

Thanks.

**walks away jabbing with an imaginary fence saying "Touche, pussy cat"**

I saw this as a teenager, in fact I think I ridiculed my younger brother for singing along with the theme tune.

I had got past my Tintin obsession by then, but having got back into Herge with my own kids I can't kick the habit now !

I watched a different version of the Three Musketeers as a kid, but this one looks nice, too...

so, this is where mutley came from. i'm suprised back in the 80s, there wasn't outrage regarding the violent, bloody fight scenes in the cartoon... geez.

My girl, aged 12 packed all five volumes of Vicomte de Bragelonne when we went on holiday. I told her we couldnt take the weight and to only take two volumes...she brought and read all five...

Ah, but it can't beat "Muffin the Mule" from the 50s!

Knifepainter- I still have all my Tintin comics, including a copy of the now notorious Tintin in Congo in french.
I had all the Asterix comics as well.

Eve- They still made good programmes then. Dangermouse was another classic. Now I've mentioned that, there is a certain inevitibility to Dangermouse being posted some time...

Raffi- Mutley originates in another children's cartoon of the eighties, Whacky Races.
Damn. ANOTHER you tube downlad looms in to view...

Lilith- the last segment of the Musketeers trilogy is undoubtedly the finest. It is possibly the finest chracter study of the Sun King in existence.

Welshcakes- Slightly before my time...

This is actually the first time I've seen them as 'dogs' dressed in clothes.

Quite sad really, I've grown up too much since I last saw them fifteen years or so ago.
